Consider this though:
Our speck of dust, traveling to & fro, as the wind blows ...may rise up higher than we'd ever imagine. Our speck of dust may seed a cloud of confusion.
We say, "But, our little sins would not have any real impact ...it's like a drop in the bucket."
But that little white lie ...that little coveted item ...that little tidbit of gossip, what of that??
A drop in the bucket, you say??
Well, that little speck of dust of ours gathers with other drops ...and makes bigger drops, until several drops fall on our head, cover our land, and fill however many buckets we desire to fill.
We call it rain ...but when the analogy compares our sin to a particle of dust, the end result is that sin will reign in our life, in our families, and throughout our land.
And we will scratch our damp heads, wondering where the ocean of sin came from.
But, not all of us will scratch our heads. Some of us will decide this: that it's kind of nice to live next to the ocean. We can feel a part of it by sailing or surfing on the waves ...enjoying those high crests.
Or we can fear a hurricane or tsunami, and move away from the ocean.
Okay, my analogy is falling apart here. I was mentioning how a seemingly insignificant speck of sin can become an ocean of sin. But, there is not anything sinful about the ocean. God created the ocean, and it is beautiful ...often awe inspiring, relaxing, and great for reflection. I would never encourage anyone to move away from the ocean itself.
Though it may be good to move away from what we consider evil societies (unless we are missionaries, and feel we can have a meaningful impact upon the people). We must always be mindful that we are all sinners ...and we may find it difficult to move away from ourselves.
Truly, oceans can be beautiful and scary at the same time. But, I'm thankful that brave men sailed across the ocean ...whether their travels were motivated by a pioneer spirit of opportunity, or by searching to have new beginnings and religious freedoms.
As a result of the combination of vast dreams, and varied motives ...we reap the many benefits.
Yet, as a result of many years of complacency, a bit of ingratitude always seems a bit contagious ...and is is possibly mostly the result of a tendency common to all of us. We tend to forget.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Because of Christ, He will remember them no more. And though we should never feel guilty again, we should not forget from whence we came. (read Ephesians, Chapter 2, of the Bible)

Is this forecast wrong??
I think not.
Of course, many could claim that ...not thinking, or not thinking it through.
Isn't that the one of the main reasons we sin??
We either feel we are in good company, everybody sins ...but, sin is not good company.
We often do not realize what may precipitate.
We often do not realize what may precipitate.
Ephesians 4:14, states, " ... tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men,and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive ..."
I call that bad weather.
But, it doesn't have to be a storm cloud. It could be a cloud of witnesses, not focusing on sin, but on a desire to be rid of sin, by redemption through Jesus.
